about kay hayes

My name is Kay Hayes and I am a storyteller in animation with ten years of industry experience.

I grew up in Jersey, studied at SCAD in Savannah, GA and currently live in Los Angeles, CA!

I began my career as a storyboard artist and have since become a director for animation.

Lately I'm fulfilling the role of supervising director across several projects and having a wonderful time!

My favorite stories to contribute to are those that include diverse and dynamic characters, the wish fulfillment of fantasy, and maybe something kind of spooky. What I have loved most about expanding my career into directing is the new ways in which I am able to have a hand in influencing the stories being told through animation, music, design, and every other part of the pipeline. I love collaborating with others and being apart of the support structure that empowers us as animated storytellers through leadership.

Animation had its hold on me from an early age- and I'm so lucky it did! I really love what I do.
